Storyline.

São Miguel, the volcanic heart of the Azores, where cows outnumber people and WiFi isn’t the main event. Your first day kicks off easy: settle in, exhale, and meet your host over a welcome dinner as we ease into island time.

Over the next two days, you’ll chase misty mountains, hike through prehistoric-looking valleys, and soak in volcanic hot springs. You’ll get the best pictures at Lagoa do Fogo, lunch with your feet in the sand, and taste Cozido: a stew slow-cooked by Earth’s own steam (for real!).

โ€‹

And the cherry on top? A full day in the legendary Sete Cidades: Crater lakes surrounded by rolling green cliffs, a picnic by the water, and a sunset handpan concert with waves crashing in the background. What else could you possibly need?

Maybe… a soak in natural ocean pools to rinse off any remaining stress.

โ€‹

This one's for the nature-lovers, slow-travelers, and modern-day explorers who know that unplugging is the real luxury. So if you’re ready to trade traffic noise for birdsong and breathe the freshest air you’ve ever known, this island’s calling.
You’re up next!

Frequently Asked Questions.

What’s the activity level like?

This trip is considered easy to moderate. Expect daily walks and light hikes, sometimes on uneven terrain. You don’t need to be an athlete, but a love for the outdoors will make it even better.

Am I going to be able to work during this adventure?

You may find a few windows here and there to sneak in a couple of emails, but we highly recommend leaving work behind. The Azores are best enjoyed with your full attention: sea breezes, volcanic trails, and all.

What’s the weather like?

The Azores are famous for having all four seasons in a single day. Layers are your best friend, and a light rain jacket will be a lifesaver.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. We require all participants to have valid travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip interruptions, and adventure activities: Make sure you get one that suits you!

How’s the food?

Incredible. Expect fresh seafood, local cheese, volcanic-stewed cozido, and pastries you’ll dream about for years. Some meals are included; others you’ll choose on your own, a perfect excuse to explore.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes, tap water is generally safe in the Azores. But if you prefer bottled water, it’s widely available.

Do I need to speak Portuguese?

Not at all, most locals in the tourism industry speak English. That said, learning a few Portuguese greetings is always appreciated and can spark warm connections.

What about dietary restrictions?

Let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Many restaurants offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, though vegan choices may be more limited outside main towns.

What’s included in the trip cost?

Accommodation, breakfasts, most dinners, guided excursions, and on-ground support. You’ll cover some lunches and dinners, personal expenses, and any optional extras.

"It's the philosophy of putting yourself in nature and thinking about what you feel. First, we experience. Then we reflect. Some things can't be learned without being directly experienced. On the mountain, the mountain is the teacher".
